Editorial policy

Editorial and Corrections Policy. How we check what we publish.

Our guides help NDIS participants, families and carers understand the scheme. Because they come from a registered NDIS provider, getting them right matters. This page explains how we research, check, update and correct them.

Official sources onlyGovernment and legislation, never other providers.
Every guide is datedSo you know how current it is.
Errors are fixedTell us and we check it against the source.
1

Where our information comes from

We use official primary sources only, such as:

  • the NDIS (ndis.gov.au) and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (ndiscommission.gov.au);
  • legislation and rules on the Federal Register of Legislation (legislation.gov.au);
  • the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Commission for pay rates and awards;
  • other Australian and NSW government websites.

We do not use other providers or summary websites as sources. If a fact cannot be confirmed from an official source, we leave it out.

2

How we check a guide before it is published

Every statement of fact is checked against its source, every figure is read from the official table it comes from, and every link is tested. Each guide ends with a disclaimer that says it is general information, not personal advice, and gives the date it is current as at.

3

How we keep guides up to date

NDIS rules, prices and pay rates change. We keep a register of every guide and when it was last fully reviewed. A full review checks every fact in the guide again. Our pay rate and price guides are also checked every month against the Fair Work and NDIS sources, and in full each July when rates change.

We only change the date on a guide when its content has really changed.

Corrections

If you think something in one of our guides is wrong or out of date, please email marketing@centreofhope.com.au. We check it against the official source and, if it is wrong, we fix it as soon as we can.

Our guides are general information. They do not replace advice about your own plan. For decisions about your plan, talk to the NDIA, your planner or partner, or your support coordinator.

Independence and our services

Centre of Hope is a registered NDIS provider (registration 4050161679) that also provides aged care support. When a guide mentions a type of support we provide, we say so plainly and leave the choice of provider with you. You can check our registration on the NDIS Commission's provider register.
