02Who it suits

This home may suit you if you have support in your plan.

  • You have Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding in your NDIS plan
  • You have Assistance with daily life funding and need support with everyday activities
  • You are looking for a home you can afford, with access to suitable disability support services
  • You want a safe, welcoming place to live while keeping your independence

Our team can talk through your individual support needs and help you explore suitable support arrangements, based on your NDIS plan, your goals and your preferences.

03Rent and funding

Your home and your support are paid for separately.

Rent · household bills · NDIS supports

Rent and ordinary household expenses are separate from NDIS-funded disability supports. We discuss the rent and household bills clearly with you before any agreement is made.

The NDIA says SIL funding pays for support workers to help you, and SIL can’t be used for rent or other day-to-day expenses like groceries. Read the NDIA’s SIL page.

This home is not Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), and Centre of Hope does not provide SDA. What the NDIA says about SDA.

Your choice

When we talk with you about support, we tell you plainly if an option is one of our own services, talk through the alternatives with you, and leave the decision with you.

05Questions

Good questions, honest answers.

Where is the home?

In Doonside NSW, in a quiet, peaceful and friendly neighbourhood. Talk to us to find out more.

Who can live here?

We welcome enquiries from NDIS participants who have Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding in their plan, or who have Assistance with daily life funding and need support with everyday activities.

Does SIL pay my rent?

No. The NDIA says SIL can’t be used for rent or other day-to-day expenses like groceries. Rent and ordinary household expenses are separate from your NDIS-funded disability supports, and we discuss them clearly before any agreement is made.

Is this Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)?

No. Centre of Hope does not provide SDA. The NDIA says SDA is a range of housing for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, while SIL is funding for the support workers who help you.

What if the home is no longer available?

Talk to us anyway. We can talk through your support needs and your home and living options.

A place to call home.
